The modeling world has its fair share of good , the bad and the ugly situations. It saddens me to have to write about Harry Uzoka losing his life on last week by fellow model George Koh. When the news first broke of his death the news put it as if the two models where rivals. Harry was well on his way on becoming a model to watch in 2018 with walking for designers such as Louis Vuitton , Dior , Everlan and countless others. George was on his way to having a successful career in modeling as well with a resume of Kenzo and Paul Smith under his belt. Something went terribly wrong last Thursday night that resulted in Harry Uzoka being found dead of a single stab wound to the heart . Harry was found slumped on a London curb on Old Oak Road in Acton last week while paramedics battled to save his life but he couldn’t be saved. Scotland Yard charged Koh of Camden with murder and possession of an offensive weapon after he was arrested on Sunday. Jonathan Okigbo, 23, of Kentish Town, has also been charged with murder following his arrest yesterday.
Harry was represented by Premier Model Management. Industry insiders spoke nothing but good things about Harry touting of how great of a model he was and saying how it was a pleasure to work with him. George Koh was previously represented by IMG Models but his page on their site is no longer active. A Rep for IMG states that he hasn’t been on their books since March of 2017. The feud between the two may have been sparked by a rivalry for a girl.
Prior to the attack, Koh and Uzoka reportedly sent each other DMs on Instagram, arranging a time and place to fight. When they met at the agreed upon spot, Uzoka and a friend were carrying metal pipes, and Koh and Okigbo had knives. A third, unnamed man was said to be carrying a machete.
The prosecutor said Uzoka was chased by Koh and his friend, and stabbed three times in the heart, and that Koh turned himself into the police on Monday, claiming that he had acted in self-defense.
We at FashionCrushWeekly send our deepest condolences to Harry Uzoka’s family during this difficult time.
